1)   Where is Dance Arts Singapore?

We are located in the heart of Bugis, directly opposite Bugis Junction. The building is called Wisma Alsagoff along North Bridge Road, which is sandwiched between Tan Quee Lan Street and Liang Seah Street.

2)   Are there other branches of Dance Arts Singapore?

No, there is only one Dance Arts Singapore. We used to be located at Funan Digitalife Mall (before it was re-developed), as well as The Specialist Centre on Orchard Road (before it was torn down!).

3)   Is Dance Arts open on Public Holidays?

We are closed on Mondays & Public Holidays. We will also close for the last 2 weeks of December for our annual season closure.

4)   Where can I park?

Street parking is available along Liang Seah Street & Tan Quee Lan Street. There is also a carpark directly opposite at Bugis Junction.

5)   How old must I be to enrol for adult classes?

The typical age range for our adult classes range from 16 years to 66 years! We do not have any age limits for the adult classes, so long as you are comfortable dancing during the class. Students with physical injuries such as back or leg problems are encouraged to take the class at their own pace, and to inform the instructor if necessary.

6)   How old must my child be to enrol for classes?

Children classes currently start from the following ages:

Ballet – from 3 years old

Tap – from 6 years old

Jazz – from 8 years old

K-Pop – from 12 years old

7)   How do I enrol myself or my child for classes?

You can call or email us to let us know which class you’d like to try out and join. From there we will recommend a suitable class for you. Thereafter, you can try one class at the single class rate, or sign up for the dance card or term. For childrens Pre-Ballet and Pre-Primary, you can book your child for a free trial (subject to class availability).

8)   How can I pay?

Our studio accepts cash, cheque, or PayNow / PayLah! payments.

10)  What is a Dance Card?

A Dance Card is typically a small card of 12 lessons, which get marked off for each class you attend. Once you complete 12 lessons, you can purchase a new dance card to renew your lessons.

11)  When can I start?

Certain classes are progressive, while others are maintained at beginner level and are suitable for people with no prior dance experience. We advise that you to enquire about the class you intend to join first, before coming down. Subsequently, we will recommend you suitable classes based on you previous experience. After completing a trial class and ensuring it is suitable for you, students can enrol thereafter.

12)  What if the class is not available or full?

If a class is full or has yet to commence (such as new classes), we can place you on a wait-list for that particular class. When the class has a vacant spot or is about to start, we will contact you to let you know.

13)  What level am I?

It is important that you are able to find the right class that correlates with your ability and experience. This allows you to reap the full potential of the class while also enjoying and learning skills attributed to that level. Please refer to the following table to give you a better overview of our classes:

14)  Can I take private lessons?

Yes we offer private classes for selected genres, subject to the availability of our studio and our instructors. Contact us to enquire about available classes and rates.

15)  What should I wear?

Each class have different requirements for attire. There will be a description of recommended attire within each class write-up, but you can always contact us directly if you still have more questions!

16)  Are there shower facilities at Dance Arts?

We do not have any shower facilities at our studio. However, we do have changing rooms and toilets within our studio.

17)  Are there locker facilities at Dance Arts?

We do not provide lockers for students. Students are required to bring their belongings into the studio with them during class. Dance Arts does not take any responsibility for the loss or damage of any students property.
